Childrens Book Illustrators - Alice Provensen & Martin Provensen

Today I'm looking at children's book illustrations and celebrating the life of Alice Provensen (1918 August–present)and Martin Provensen (July 10, 1916, Chicago, Illinois, USA–March 27, 1987) they were an American author illustrator team who created more than 40 children's books. Sadly Alice passed away in 2018. 

The wonderful vintage children's illustrations below depict street scenes and animals using a soft colour palette. I especially love the screen printed look combined with line drawing of this 1970's style, a huge influence on my own surface pattern designs.
